The property market in 2016 and 2026: the evolution of decision-making, tools and responsibilities

Comparing 2016 and 2026 is not a sentimental look back, but an attempt to capture the evolution of the market: from decisions based on intuition to a world of data, predictive models and interdisciplinary industry debate.

Today we’ve put together a comparison for you that follows the trend currently dominating social media – let’s take a look at what the property market was like in 2016 and what will (or won’t) change by 2026.

2016–2026. A decade of change in the property market

Let’s take a trip down memory lane to 2016, when the 6th edition of the Polish Real Estate Forum took place. Photographs are, of course, a lasting record of years gone by, which is why we’ve dug out a few shots from back then in our albums.

Today, we stand on the threshold of the 16th edition of the event, and this is a good opportunity to look at the scale of changes that have taken place in the market over the last ten years.

The year 2016 was a time of a different market context, different challenges and tools. Many processes relied on experience and intuition, whilst technology and advanced analytics were only just beginning to play a greater role in investment and strategic decisions.

The year 2026 marks a completely different stage in the development of the property market. Data, predictive models, the digitisation of processes, new forms of financing and the growing awareness of market participants have become an integral part of day-to-day work. The nature of the industry debate has also changed. It is now more in-depth, interdisciplinary and focused on the long-term consequences of the decisions taken.

The comparison between 2016 and 2026 is not nostalgic in nature. It bears witness to the market’s evolution and demonstrates the importance of a space for the substantive exchange of knowledge, experience and perspectives.

For years, the Polish Real Estate Forum has been a venue where these changes are analysed, discussed and interpreted by industry professionals. The conference not only accompanies the sector’s transformation, but also plays an active role in shaping the quality of industry dialogue.

A ten-year difference is not just about numbers.

It is a shift in the way we think, make decisions and define responsibility for the market’s development.

On 11 and 12 June, we will meet in Sopot, as we do every year, by Europe’s longest wooden pier.

Venue: Sheraton Sopot Hotel
