Cruises aboard the luxurious Princess V40

Onboard features include a spacious cockpit with a generous relaxation area, a retractable hardtop, and an elegant interior with two comfortable cabins.

Cruises will depart from and return to the marina at the Sopot Pier, just next to the Sheraton Sopot Hotel.

Sopot Pier

It’s hard to imagine a visit to Sopot without a stroll along this iconic structure – the longest wooden pier in Europe, stretching 511.5 meters into the sea. On clear days, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Sopot, the Redłowo Headland and its stunning cliff in Gdynia’s Orłowo district, and the Port of Gdańsk.

A bit of history

The first wooden pier in the spa town of Sopot was built in 1827, initiated by Dr. Jean Georges Haffner. It was 31.5 meters long. During the 19th century, it was extended to 150 meters, and by 1910 it reached 315 meters. Originally serving as a local marina, the pier eventually transformed into a leisure facility as the town developed.

Its current form dates back to 1928, following the largest reconstruction in the pier’s history. Launched in 1927 to mark the 25th anniversary of the town and the pier’s centenary, the rebuild significantly extended the promenade and redeveloped the surrounding Spa Square (Skwer Kuracyjny).

Few people realize that the Sopot Pier consists of two parts: the land section and the wooden (seaside) section.

The land section is Spa Square – featuring a beautiful historic fountain, a lighthouse with a viewing terrace, a concert shell, and a landscaped park.
The wooden section, which includes the main promenade (511.5 m long), also houses a marina for over 100 yachts, opened in 2011. Fun fact: the concentration of iodine at the farthest point from land is twice as high as onshore.
